Q4 2017 Blackboard Open Content (formerly xpLor) Release
OpenEd has the highest quality educational resource library with videos, assessments, games, and lesson plans for all of K-12. The resources are curated from all the leading publishers and accurately aligned to standards. With this integration, instructors from all over the world can now leverage over 450,000 more standards-aligned educational resources through Blackboard Open Content.
This release has two key components:
- The integration of OpenEd, a leading K-12 OER content repository, into Blackboard Open Content to offer instructors access to additional resources to leverage the power of OER in their classroom.
- A system update that adds the capability for instructors using Blackboard Learn (Original and Ultra Courses) to launch directly to OpenEd available content from the Content Market.
Any institution with the Partner Cloud Building Block enabled can add Open Content partners to the Content Market. To do so, system administrators must set each partner as available through the Partner Cloud Settings. Don’t have Partner Cloud installed? Download it from Behind the Blackboard today.
Access to Blackboard Open Content is available by default. However, the Learn system administrator will need to first make Open Content available in the Admin Panel through the Blackboard Open Content Settings located under the Cloud Management section.
Blackboard Open Content is a cloud services deployment, which will appear immediately for all users that meet the requirements.
