You can set up your mobile device to auto login into the Blackboard Learn app. This way you'll avoid having to remember passwords as well as make the experience easier and faster.
Auto login on iOS devices
To enable this feature, you must follow these steps:
Keep in mind these steps might slightly change depending on your iOS version
- Go to Settings
- Select Passwords
- Select Password Options
- Make sure the AutoFill Passwords toggle is on
- Select Blackboard
- Open the Blackboard Learn app
- Once you're in the Web Login, type your Username and Password
- Select Save when asked if you'd like to save the password in Blackboard
That's it. Next time you log in to the Blackboard Learn app, select Passwords, then Blackboard... to automatically fill in the login information.
If your institution enables multi-factor authentication (MFA), you still need to perform the next step after auto login. Read more about set up and steps for logging in with MFA .
Auto login on Android devices
To enable this feature, you must follow these steps:

- Open the Blackboard Learn app
- Type your Username and Password
- Select Save when asked if you'd like to Save password to Google
That's it. Next time you log in to the Blackboard Learn app, select Access Account, then select your account info to automatically fill the login information.

Setting up Authentication Type and Session Timeout (Admin only)
As an Admin, you're able to choose the type of authentication users will have to complete to login into the Blackboard Learn app. Also, you can configure the automatic session timeout.
Setup authentication type
To choose the type of authentication follow these steps:
- Log in with your Admin user and password from a web browser only
- Select Admin from the left menu
- Once on the Administrator Tools page, go to the Integrations section and then select the Building Blocks option
- Select Installed Tools
- Go to the Blackboard Mobile Web Services Building Block, select the down arrow button, and select Settings
- Select Server Registration Settings
- Go to Authentication Type and choose one of the given options
- Select Submit to save changes
Setup mobile session timeout
Within the Administrator tools, you can enable/disable session timeouts only when the Force to Web Sign-in authentication type is enabled.
To set up this option, follow these steps:
- Log in with your Admin user and password from a web browser only
- Select Admin from the left menu
- Once on the Administrator Tools page, go to the Integrations section and then select the Building Blocks option.
- Go to the Blackboard Mobile Web Services Building Block, select the down arrow button, and select Settings.
- Select Change Mobile Session Timeout
- Select Yes/No to enable Mobile Session Timeout. If Yes is selected, specify the number of hours users have before being automatically logged out.
The default timeout value is 3 hours and the maximum is 336 hours (14 days).
