Blackboard Learn produces timely notifications of what's happening in users' courses, including new content, surveys, and due dates for tests and assignments.
The notification system is a framework for the delivery of notifications to Blackboard Learn users. When an event occurs in the system—such as an assignment is created, a course is available, or a test is past due—the system automatically creates the appropriate notifications. No action is required by the instructor.
After notifications are generated in the Original experience, they're immediately visible to users within Blackboard Learn on My Blackboard's Updates and Posts pages and in course home page modules. Notifications also display in Notification Dashboard modules if your institution has access to the community engagement features. The system can also distribute notifications by email and push notifications in the Blackboard app.
In the Ultra experience, these notifications appear in the activity stream, email, and push notifications in the Blackboard or Blackboard Instructor apps.
Within the parameters set by the institution, individual users can configure which notifications they receive and choose how they want to receive their notifications.
