Blackboard has partnered with several third-party innovations to further enhance your district and school's mobile app.

Available third-party applications

Currently, the Blackboard Mobile Communications app can be integrated with the following third-party programs.

Application Description
e~Funds for Schools (EFS) e~Funds for Schools (EFS) technology provides parents, teachers, students, and your community with the ability to send payments at any time for unlimited school services using multiple payment platforms. By integrating with the Blackboard Mobile Communications app, parents will be able to make payments through your district and school's mobile app.

The integration requires a mapping file, along with who to contact for the file. Integrate e~funds now!
Nutrislice Nutrislice provides details about school food, including pictures, nutrient information, allergies, and special diets. Integrated with Blackboard Mobile Communications app, you can provide digital menus for students and parents.

Integrate e~Funds

A mapping file is required for some partner's integration. You will need to contact your e~Funds representative to receive the mapping files before configuring the product to the Blackboard Mobile Communications app.

  1. Contact the third-party partner for the mapping files.
    • For e~Funds for Schools the contact is Kristen Salava - [email protected].
    • Receive the district number, username, password, and security key.
    • Receive the mapping file. Mapping files must be in a .csv (Comma Delimited) file format. You can use Microsoft Excel to convert a file to the .csv format using the Save As feature. The file headers must be in the following order - externalID, Name, and sisID:
      • The externalID is the partner ID for the organization.
      • The Name is the name of the organization.
      • The sisID is optional but recommended. It improves accuracy and speed of the mapping.
  2. Integrate the third-party data:
    • From the Blackboard Communications HQ interface, select the Settings tab, and then select Data Config.
    • Select e~Funds for Schools from the Product list.
    • Type the District number, Username, Password, and Security key.
    • Select Save e~Funds for Schools Info.
    • Select Upload e~Funds for School IDs to select the mapping file to upload.
    • If there are any missing IDs for organizations that need to be mapped, type the information in the Update e~Funds for Schools IDs To box.
    • Select Save e~Funds for Schools Info when finished.
  3. Integrate with Blackboard Communications App:
    • From the Blackboard Communications HQ interface, select the Settings tab, and then select App Config.
    • Select Global App settings.
    • Select the Marketplace icon to add to your mobile app.

      Rename the icon if necessary. Check out Create the icon for more details.

    • Save all changes.

Integrate Nutrislice

All third-party programs have the data configured in one location using the Data Config tab. After the data is configured, you can create the icons for parents to launch the products from your mobile app using the Mobile App Configuration section.

  1. Integrate the third-party data:
    • From the Blackboard Communications HQ interface, select the Settings tab, and then select Data Config.
    • Select Nutrislice from the Product list.
    • Type the Nutrislice Domain name (URL web link).
    • Select Get Nutrislice Locations.
    • If there are any missing IDs for organizations that need to be mapped, type the information in the Update Nutrislice IDs To box.
    • Select Save Nutrislice Info when finished.
  2. Integrate with Blackboard Communications App:
    • From the Blackboard Communications HQ interface, select the Settings tab, and then select App Config.
    • Select Global App settings.
    • Select the Menus icon to add to your mobile app.

      Rename the icon if necessary. Check out Create the icon for more details.

    • Save all changes.
