Choose the right app for your content

You build pages using the Web Community Manager apps—they are your content building blocks. Each app is designed to display in a way that is consistent with the type of content contained within the app. Choosing the right app or combination of apps and the right page layouts helps you provide your visitors with adaptive content that automatically responds to the type of device accessing the information and keeps your pages fresh and engaging.

Files

  • Document Viewer app - The Document Viewer app, powered by Google Docs™ Viewer, allows you to display a document on a page on your end-user website. Use the app to provide documents that you want your users to have access to at any time while providing them the option to download and print it. Class schedules, course syllabus, or terms and condition documents can be easily displayed using this app.
  • File Library app - Create a file library to build collections of files that generally have the same topic or theme. For example, you can use this app to create and organize classroom resources such as reading materials, class handouts, class conduct, etc.
  • Google Folder app - The Google Folder app allows users to connect with a folder you created within Google Drive™ - a file storage and synchronization service created by Google. Connecting to your Google folders allows you to create, edit, and maintain your documents from any location.

Images

  • Content app - Use the content app to add images to your page. This app is adaptive which means the content you enter looks great when viewed on any device.
  • Image app - Use the image app to add images to your pages. Your device recognizes it as an image and displays it appropriately.
  • Multimedia Gallery app - The Multimedia Gallery is a responsive media gallery that displays images on any device. This app adapts with images of any size.
  • Photo Gallery app - Share multiple images in a slide show format with transitions, captions, fading, and music.

  • Content app - Use the content app for adding links to your page. This app is adaptive which means the content you enter looks great when viewed on any device.
  • Link Library app - The Link Library App provides a list of links and their descriptions.
  • Site Shortcut app- Use the Site Shortcuts app to add links to websites that are important to your visitors.

School and staff contact information

  • About Teacher app - Use the About Teacher app to introduce yourself to your students and their parents, and share your educational background, philosophies, and teaching style.
  • Alumni app - The Alumni Directory app provides a location on your webpage for alumni to add their contact information.
  • Calendar app - Schedule and publish events to school, district, or site workspace calendar. Users and visitors can sign up to receive e-alerts when an event is happening, registration opens, or is added.
  • Davis Demographics SchoolSite Locator app - The Davis Demographics SchoolSite Locator app lets visitors enter their address and view the school boundaries for their district.
  • Maps and Directions app - Set your location details for a school, the location of a sporting event, or field destinations.
  • School Directory app - The School Directory app allows you to add and maintain information about each of your schools and the District site.
  • Staff Directory app - The Staff Directory app allows visitors to have access to the members of your staff, especially their contact information.

Videos

  • Embed Code app - Many third party services such as YouTube™ or TeacherTube® provide embed code for objects like videos that are posted on their sites. You can use this app to insert or embed the video and its player onto a page in your site.
  • Multimedia Gallery app - The Multimedia Gallery is a responsive media gallery that displays images on any device. This app adapts images of any size.
  • Premium Video app - Build a library of videos for your webpage with the Premium Videos app.
