Student Information System (SIS) integrations change over time. They are subject to network conditions such as maintenance windows and connectivity problems. Check the SIS Integration Logs to help diagnose any problems. Use Advanced Configurations to troubleshoot any integration issues and have a backup plan to update your system in case you experience network or other system outages.

View the advanced configuration

Follow these steps to view the advanced configuration for an existing SIS integration.

  1. On the Administrator Panel, under Integrations, select Data Integration.
  2. Select Student Information System Integrations.
  3. Open the integration's menu and select Advanced Configuration.

Manually upload feed files

One way to address connection problems between your SIS and Blackboard Learn is to manually upload a feed file (typically XML, but a Snapshot flat file can also be used) to an existing SIS Integration.

  1. On the Administrator Panel, under Integrations, select Data Integration.
  2. Select Student Information System Integrations.
  3. Open the integration's menu and select Upload Feed File.
  4. Select Browse on the Upload Feed File page.
  5. Locate the XML file on your local system which matches the format required of the specified integration type.
  6. Select Submit.

View HTTP information

Follow these steps to view HTTP Information for an existing IMS Enterprise 1.1 or IMS Enterprise 1.1 - Vista integration. Use this information to set up the SIS to POST XML feed files to the integration.

  1. On the Administrator Panel, under Integrations, select Data Integration.
  2. Select Student Information System Integrations.
  3. Open the integration's menu and select HTTP Information.

View web service information

Follow these steps to view HTTP Information for an existing IMS Learning Information Services integration. Use this information to see the local and remote Endpoint URLs.

  1. On the Administrator Panel, under Integrations, select Data Integration.
  2. Select Student Information System Integrations.
  3. Open the integration's menu and select Web Services Information.

Delete SIS integrations

Follow these steps to delete an existing SIS integration. Blackboard recommends setting an integration to Inactive rather than to delete the integration, unless the prior status was Testing.

  1. On the Administrator Panel, under Integrations, select Data Integration.
  2. Select Student Information System Integrations.
  3. Open the integration's menu and select Delete.
