Users have the option of choosing whether their user information is made public in the Blackboard Learn user directory. The Privacy Settings page allows administrators to determine whether user-selected privacy settings are considered during user searches of the Content Collection


Configure privacy settings

  1. On the Administrator Panel in the Content Management section, select Content Management Settings.
  2. Select Privacy Settings.
  3. Select Yes or No to indicate whether user-set privacy settings for the user directory will be respected. If you select Yes, users who choose not to be listed in the user directory won't appear in searches in the Content Collection. If you select No, users who choose not to be listed in the user directory will appear during searches in the Content Collection. If a username doesn't appear during a user search in the Content Collection, check both the settings on this page and the user-selected privacy settings.
