Write your message once and select as many delivery options that are available to your district. Select phone messages, emails, your mobile site, your website, any RSS feeds, or social networks.

What's available to me?

What your district and school subscribes to determines what is available in your Send Message interface.

If you subscribe to all the products available in the Community Engagement solution — Blackboard Mass Notifications, Blackboard Mobile Communications app, Blackboard Social Media Manager, and Blackboard Web Community Manager — you can access any of the features.

My district and school subscriptions

The following table describes the icons available in the Send Message interface depending our your subscriptions. Your district or school may have any combination of these icons depending on the Community Engagement solution products you use.

Phone

 Your district/school subscribes to Blackboard Mass Notifications. Your district and school can contact the community via phone calls.

Email

 Your district/school subscribes to Blackboard Mass Notifications. Your district and school can contact the community via emails.

Text/SMS

 Your district/school subscribes to Blackboard Mass Notifications. Your district and school can contact the community via text messages.

Push Notification

 Your district/school subscribes to Blackboard Mobile Communication app. Your district and school can send push notifications via the mobile app. Your community will receive the notification on their app.

Social Media

 Your district/school subscribes to Blackboard Mass Notifications, Blackboard Mobile Communications app, or Blackboard Social Media Manager. Your district and school can post the same message on any available Facebook or Twitter accounts. You can link the social media accounts in Settings > Social Media.

Website

 Your district/school subscribes to Blackboard Web Community Manager. Your district and school can contact the community via the website under the Announcements or Headlines & Features areas. When you subscribe to Blackboard Web Community Manager, your district and school will have access to the Universal Navigation Bar to move between the website management and communication management tools.

Alerts

 Your district/school subscribes to Blackboard Web Community Manager. Your district and school can add an On-Screen Alert pop-up message on the website. When you subscribe to Blackboard Web Community Manager, your district and school will have access to the Universal Navigation Bar to move between the website management and communication management tools.

RSS

 Your district/school subscribes to Blackboard Mass Notifications. Your district and school can send messages via their RSS news feed. You can set up the news feed in Settings > Organization Config> Delivery Options.
