Automated transcription for recordings in English

Continuous Delivery Collaborate Ultra 22.02 | Release to Production: 10 February 2022
Updated features

While we’re technically releasing the feature in this release, we’re currently finalizing the process and tools by which institutions can request the activation of this feature. We will update this page with a link to activation instructions as early as possible, we expect this to be finalized by the March release. Make sure to select “follow” at the bottom of this page to be informed when we update it with the instructions.

In the meantime we wanted to share earlier on the details and documentation of the feature itself.

Instructors can now leverage the help of artificial intelligence to improve the accessibility of their recordings (available in English only for now). Creating captioning for recordings from scratch can be very time consuming for instructors or accessibility staff. With this new feature, Collaborate gives you a head start by automatically creating a transcription based on speech to text recognition technology. After the session, the instructor or session owner can create the auto-caption. These captions can be reviewed, downloaded, and edited if necessary.
