Shared Content with Assistive Technology

Share Content panel

  1. From the Collaborate panel, go to the Share Content tab panel.
  2. Spacebar or select Share Content tab panel to open.
  3. Find the Share Contentheading with keyboard shortcuts, the Tab key, or visually.
  4. Continue to navigate the panel to find the following features:
    • Nothing shared
      • Nothing is shared heading
      • Presenters and moderators may share content text
    • Whiteboard shared
      • Primary Content heading
      • Share Blank Whiteboard button
      • Sharing Whiteboard text
    • Application/Screen shared
      • Primary Content heading
      • Share Application/Screen button
      • [name] is sharing an application text
    • File shared
      • Primary Content heading
      • Share Files button
      • Sharing [file name] text
    • Poll started
      • Secondary Content heading
      • Polling button
      • Active: Yes/No Choices text or Active: Multiple Choice text
    • Breakout group started
      • Interact heading
      • Breakout Groups button
      • You’re in [group name] text

Annotation tools

Annotations aren’t accessible to screen reader users without a person providing a real-time explanation of what is appearing on the screen.

After a file or the whiteboard is shared, go to the main page to find the following functions:

  1. Select button
  2. Pointer button
  3. Pencil button
  4. Shapes pop-up button
    1. Rectangle button
    2. Ellipse button
    3. Line button
  5. Text button
  6. Clear button
  7. Colors pop-up button (appears when Pencil or Text are selected)
  8. Stop Sharing button (Presenter and moderator roles)
  9. Show View Controls toggle button
    1. Zoom in button
    2. Zoom out button
    3. Best fit button
    4. Actual size button

Select a button with the Spacebar or select button.

Speech-to-text users can use supplemental controls like Mouse Grid to add text or draw on the whiteboard or other shared content.
