Site statistics show the total visits to your site. From a site select Statistics for a view you can filter.


How do you obtain the statistics?

We base the statistics on sessions. A session begins when a user accesses the web site and ends when the user closes the browser. The statistics reflect all sessions for all users within the specified date range.

We count only one visit or targeted visit per domain and only one view per page during each session.

Are you using IP addresses or cookies to obtain these statistics?

We are not using IP addresses or cookies to obtain these statistics.

Do you analyze the statistics in real time?

No, we analyze and aggregate the numbers overnight.

What does the graph in Site Statistics show?

The graph in Site Statistics shows the total number of visits to your site during the specified date range. The total number of visits to your site includes visits to the channels and sections within it.

Is there a difference between the summary statistic shown for total visits and the number on the graph?

No, the total number of visits recorded on the graph is the same as the total number of visits in the summary.

What is the default date range?

The default date range is one year, ending on the day you are viewing the statistics. You may set it for any date range you chose.

How are total page views measured in the Site Workspace?

Total page views in the Site Workspace include visits to the homepage and calendar page of your site; visits to the homepage and calendar page of channels within your site; and visits to all pages within the sections on your site.

What are targeted visits?

Targeted visits are determined by the domain (site, channel or section) under which the destination page resides.

In other words, if your destination page is the homepage of the site, that site will reflect the targeted visit. The statistics in the Site Workspace will reflect a visit and a targeted visit as well as a page view. The statistics in the Channel Workspace and the statistics in the Section Workspace will be unaffected.

However, if your destination page is the homepage of a channel on the site, that channel will reflect the targeted visit. The statistics in the Channel Workspace will reflect a visit, a page view and a targeted visit. The statistics in the Site Workspace will reflect a visit, one page view and no targeted visits. The statistics in the Section Workspace will be unaffected.

In the same way, if your destination page is a page within the section, that section will reflect the targeted visit. The statistics in the Section Workspace will reflect a visit, a page view and a targeted visit. The statistics in the Site Workspace and the Channel Workspace will reflect a visit, one page view and no targeted visits .

What is the benefit of knowing the total number of targeted visits?

Looking at your visitors ultimate destinations, will help you assess what material is the most popular and build on that popularity.

Are the statistics in the Site Workspace for the district site an aggregate of all the subsites within that district?

No. Statistics for the district site only reflect visits to that site and any channels or sections within it.
