Have an important message you want visitors of your website to notice first thing? Add an on-screen alert.

On-screen alerts appear on every screen of your website. The alert expires midnight the day you posted the alert. You can create on-screen alerts for the district or school subsites. This can be done directly in WCM or from the Community Engagement solution, if your site is integrated with it.

Site administrators can view who created an alert that appears at their site. District administrators can manage any lower-level alerts.


Create on-screen alerts in WCM

  1. From Site Manager select the site you want to put the alert on.
  2. Select Tools and On-Screen Alerts.
  3. Select Create Alert.
  4. Type an alert name. This makes it easier to find and edit later, if you need to.
  5. Type and format your message.
  6. Select what sites you want the alert to appear on.
  7. Select how long you want the alert to display.
  8. Select Save & Display.

Create on-screen alerts with Community Engagement

If you have the Community Engagement solution, you can use it to add on-screen alerts to your site.

  1. Go to messages in Mass Notifications.
    • From Site Manager select Create Message in the Universal Navigation bar.
    • From the Community Engagement site or mobile app, select Create Message.
  2. Select Alert as your delivery method.

    Don't just post an on-screen alert. Select more than one delivery method and reach more of your community.

  3. Select Sites and choose the sites you want the alert to appear on.
  4. Type and format your message.
  5. Type a subject for the alert. This makes it easier to find and cancel later, if you need to.
  6. Select a Start Time.
  7. Select Send.

Edit, extend and cancel alerts

  • Edit and extend alerts: From Site Manager find the site with the alert. Select Tools and On-Screen Alerts. Find the alert and select it. Edit the message, the duration time, or select Expire Now.
  • Cancel alerts
    • From Site Manager find the site with the alert. Select Tools and On-Screen Alerts. Find the alert and select More. Select Expire Now.
    • From Community Engagement select Reports and Message Tracking.
