Different learning paths for different learners.
Our Personalized Learning Designer (PLD) is designed to make your life easier. Use it to identify at-risk students, inactive, or failing students. Then use the alerts in PLD to implement a remediation process.
How the Personalized Learning Designer works
Each rule has an event, optional conditions, and at least one action.
- Event: An event is what triggers the rule, or causes it to run.
- Condition: A condition determines if there are actions when an event occurs. If there are no conditions, actions happen automatically.
- Action: An action is what happens when the right conditions are met.
With the PLD, you can combine different events, conditions, and actions within rules.
1. Course start
2. Automated welcome email and popup message
After the course has begun, learners will receive an automated welcome email. This email can be completely customized by the instructors to cover any message or topics they choose to begin with.
Learners can then be quizzed based on any materials, topics, or discussions within the course. The quiz results determine each learner’s “pathway”. Learners who are successful and accelerated can move on to other topics and materials, while other learners who need a little more help and review can be sent to additional materials and activities and they can also retake the quiz when they’re ready.
4. Email progress to tutor
After learners complete the quiz, the results and progress are sent to the instructor allowing them to quickly identify key behaviors and performance so they can take relevant action.
Additionally, other roles can also receive automatic communications. For example, learners can get additional information about their performance and managers or supervisors can get notifications about assessment completion, or any other relevant information about the learners and course.
5. Retention check
Automatic support materials and automated email communications can be sent to learners to improve retention and motivation. For example, emails are sent if the users do not enter the course within in a certain amount of time and further support materials can be sent if a learner struggles with a specific quiz or activity. The supporting emails and materials can also lead the learners to retake the quiz or to other course results.
6. Support redirect until completion
Based on their performance, learners get personalized, timely notifications that encourage greater interaction and engagement with their courses. The email tool gives the instructor the ability to personalize messages on their performance and redirect them to additional course materials and activities that will be beneficial for course completion.
7. Course finish
Once all performance conditions are successfully met, the learners then completes the course and new communications can be send to instructors, tutors, supervisors, etc.
