Mediasite is a complete rich media webcasting and publishing system that automates the capture, management, and delivery of interactive multimedia presentations. With Mediasite instructors, staff and authorized students can easily record, upload, share and watch video in any Blackboard course. The combined power of Blackboard with Mediasite means all your videos have a central secure home benefiting from Mediasite’s in-video search, engagement tools and viewership statistics.

The Mediasite integration is powered by Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI).

Install and configure Mediasite

When you integrate Mediasite with Blackboard, you must do these things:

  • Configure Mediasite to communicate with Blackboard using Basic LTI
  • Optionally enable module, collection, and user profile provisioning
  • Assign permissions to ensure users are able to access resources on Mediasite

If some or all of your courses use the Original Course View, you must also install Mediasite’s VTBE plug-in. Sign into sonicfoundry's support site and download the plug-in.

If you have an existing integration with the Mediasite Building Block, keep the Building Block installed but set it to Unavailable. This will allow users to playback existing content but hide its course tools so it can't be used to add content.
