Course Distribution
What proportion of students was graded?
This donut chart shows the number of student enrollments with a grade and without a grade within the filters you've selected. The grades shown are based on the Grade Calculation you’ve selected.
Consider:
- Graded and ungraded enrollments count the number of active student enrollments with graded and ungraded items in a course.
- This measure only includes courses in which any grades have been posted.
- This only counts active students.
- More ungraded enrollments mean fewer students with posted grades in a course.
What’s the minimum, average, and maximum grade?
Consider:
- The minimum grade percentage represents the minimum grade a student enrolled has obtained in a course.
- The average grade percentage is calculated as the median of the grades obtained by all student enrollments in a course.
- The maximum grade percentage represents the maximum grade a enrolled student has obtained in a course.
What’s the student distribution by grade?
This stacked bar chart shows the number of student enrollments grouped by the grade range within the children of the Institutional Hierarchy Node you’ve selected. The grades shown are based on the Grade Calculation you’ve selected. This measure only includes courses in which any grades have been posted; and only counts active students.
What’s the grade distribution per course?
This table shows grades performance in each course within the filters you’ve selected. The grades shown are based on the Grade Calculation you’ve selected. This measure only includes courses in which any grades have been posted; and only counts active students.
Grade distribution shows how grades are spread in a course. A smaller grade distribution percentage means more students have similar grades. Grade distribution is calculated as the difference between the upper 75% and lower 25% quartiles in a set of grades (interquartile range).
Consider:
- The average grade percentage is calculated as the median of the grades obtained by all student enrollments in a course.
- A maximum and minimum grade percentage represent the maximum and minimum grade a student enrolled has obtained in a course.
What’s the grade distribution per course?
This table shows how each student performs in their courses within the selected filters. This measure only counts students in active courses.
Consider:
- The final grade is calculated as the weighted average of all grades, depending on the weight given to each gradable item.
- The average grade is calculated as the media of all grades.
- Count of items graded as zero: shows the number of gradable items the student has been graded a zero on.

What proportion of students has grades at or above, and below the grade boundary?
This donut chart measures the percentage of student course enrollments that have grades at or above, and below the grade boundary you’ve selected. As this report counts student course enrollments and not unique students, a single student may be represented in both segments.

This table shows how each Institutional Hierarchy Node performs in terms of course count, active student count, average normalized grade score, and the percentage of student course enrollments at or above the selected grade boundary.

This table shows how each course within the filters you've selected performs in terms of active student count, average normalized grade score, and the percentage of student course enrollments at or above the selected grade boundary.
Which students are at or above, and below the grade boundary?
This table shows which students have grades at or above, and below the grade boundary per student course enrollment within the filters you've selected. Students are sorted by their first name in ascending order (A-Z) by default. This table has personally identifiable information; treat with care.
