    In Blackboard Learn, you can search for users from several areas.

    In the Original Course View, searching for users requires access to the Control Panel and is available only if you have one of these defined course roles:

    • Instructor
    • Teaching Assistant (TA)
    • Grader
    • Course Builder
    • Administrator

    Search for a user by first name, last name, email, or username

    1. On the Control Panel, expand the Users and Groups section and select Users.
    2. On the Users page, select one: first name, last name, email address, or username.
    3. Select one: Contains, Equal to, or Starts with.
    4. Type one: first name, last name, email address, or username.
    5. Select Go. All matching entries appear.

    Search using a value found in the user's name

    1. On the Control Panel, expand the Users and Groups section and select Users.
    2. On the Users page, type a value in the Search box.
    3. Select Go. All matching entries appear.

    List all users in a course

    1. On the Control Panel, expand the Users and Groups section and select Users.
    2. On the Users page, select Go. All users appear.

      You may download the list in spreadsheet format. To learn more, see Work Offline With Grade Data.

    3. On the Control Panel, expand the Grade Center section and select Full Grade Center.
    4. Point to Work Offline on the action bar and select Download.
    5. Select the columns that you want to download. The list of students is included automatically.
    6. Select Submit and save the file.

    Use the Roster link on the Course Content page to view your class list and connect with your students. You can access basic profile cards and match faces to names. You can also send messages to anyone involved with your course.

    Select the Search Roster icon. In the search box, type a name, username, or at least two letters to reveal a list of matches. Any filters previously selected are cleared when you perform a new search.
