When you add textbook information in your course, it also appears in the course catalog where prospective students can access it prior to enrollment. Access the course catalog on the Blackboard login page or on the Courses tab after you log in.
This video explains how to search for and add textbook information to your course.
You can create items for each textbook used in your course. You can search an external source or add textbook information manually.
Be sure Edit Mode is ON so that you can access all of the instructor's functions.
In a content area or folder, select Partner Content to access the menu and select Search for Textbook.
On the Search for Textbook page, select a search category from the menu: ISBN, Title, Author, or Subject.
Type Keywords, such as an author's name or title. To further narrow the search, select the Type of book: Digital, Print, or All. Select Go.
From the list of search results, select a textbook. On the Create Textbook page, select Required or Recommended for the textbook. Type an optional description, and select the appropriate options for availability, tracking, and display dates. Display dates don't affect a textbook's availability, only when it appears.
After you submit, the textbook information appears in the content list. You can change the content at any time. Access the item's menu and select Edit.
You can change where the item appears in the list with the drag-and-drop function or the keyboard accessible reordering tool.
If your search doesn't return the result you want, you can provide the information needed. Select Partner Content to access the menu and select Manual Entry Textbook. You can provide the textbook details and image, and select the appropriate options for availability, tracking, and display dates.
