From the base navigation, users have access to all of their courses' grading tasks on the global Grades page. Original and Ultra Course Views appear together in alphabetical order.
Instructors see a summary for each course. They see how many grades to post and the average course grade-and can begin grading from this page. Students see a list of recent grades and their overall grade for each course. Students also see newly posted grades in their activity streams.
You do not need to maintain the base navigation's global Grades page or manage settings for it. The system populates the page with information from all courses that users are enrolled in. Users do not have access to any settings for the global Grades page.
In the Original Course View, instructors complete their grading tasks in the original Grade Center interface. Students view their grades on the original My Grades page.

In the Ultra Course View, students and instructors can access course grades on the navigation bar. They select the paper and pencil icon to access all the coursework that is specific to the course they are in.
In the Original Course View, instructors access the Grade Center on the Control Panel.
You can change the default grade settings at any time. These changes apply to new courses created after the change. Existing courses do not update their settings when you change the default settings.
While the Grades page in the base navigation does not require you to select settings, you can still make some configurations from the Admin Panel.
For the Original Course View only, you can allow students to access tests and surveys only on computers you specify. Students must use computers with IP addresses in the allowed range.

Grading schemas convert raw numeric scores, such as 88 points out of 100, to specific grade displays, such as B+ or Pass. When students view their grades, they see the grade display that corresponds to their numeric scores. You can create any number of grading schemas for instructors to use in courses. Instructors can select a schema to use as a default and then modify the display values and calculations for an individual course.
