Share Content panel

  1. From the Collaborate panel, go to the Share Content tab panel.
  2. Spacebar or select Share Content tab panel to open.
  3. Find the Share Content heading with keyboard shortcuts, the Tab key, or visually.
  4. Continue to navigate the panel to find the following features:
    • Nothing shared
      • Nothing is shared heading
      • Presenters and moderators may share content text
    • Whiteboard shared
      • Primary Content heading
      • Share Blank Whiteboard button
      • Sharing Whiteboard text
    • Application/Screen shared
      • Primary Content heading
      • Share Application/Screen button
      • [name] is sharing an application text
    • File shared
      • Primary Content heading
      • Share Files button
      • Sharing [file name] text
    • Poll started
      • Secondary Content heading
      • Polling button

Annotation tools

Annotations aren't accessible to screen reader users without a person providing real-time explanation of what is appearing on the screen.

After a file or the whiteboard is shared, go to the main page to find the following functions:

  1. Select button
  2. Pointer button
  3. Pencil button
  4. Shapes pop-up button
    1. Rectangle button
    2. Ellipse button
    3. Line button
  5. Text button
  6. Clear button
  7. Colors pop-up button (appears when Pencil or Text are selected)
  8. Stop Sharing button (Presenter and moderator roles)

Select a button with the Spacebar or select button.

Speech-to-text users can use supplemental controls like Mouse Grid to add text or draw on the whiteboard or other shared content.

Timer with Assistive Technology


Timer

After a moderator starts the timer, an alert occurs to provide screen reader users information on how much time they have. As the timer counts down it explicitly states when there is one minute, then 30 seconds left.

After the timer is finished, an alert visually appears in the top right corner of the page with the text “Time is up”. The timer button changes to the text “Done”, and screen reader users hear “Time is up”.

Timer Details

  1. To hear the timer count in real-time, go to the Timer: Active pop-up button.
  2. Spacebar or select Timer: Active pop-up button to open the Timer region.
    • Timer details open with the current time remaining in a big bold white number in MM:SS format. The total time appears in a smaller white font below, also in MM:SS format. 
    • Screen reader users hear “MM:SS remaining of MM:SS”.

After the timer region is open, it can't be closed until the time is up. At that point, go to the Done button. Spacebar or select Done button to remove the timer from the page, if the moderator doesn't.
