Navigate My Settings with Assistive Technology

Access My Settings

  1. From the Collaborate panel, go to the My Settings tab panel.
  2. Spacebar or select My Settings tab panel to open.
  3. Find the heading My Settings heading with heading keyboard short cuts, the Tab key, or visually.
  4. Continue to navigate the panel to find the following features:
    • Change your profile picture button
    • Audio and Video Settings tab
    • Notification Settings tab
    • Session Settings tab, moderators only 
    • Report an issue button

Change your profile picture

  1. In the My Settings tab, go to the Change your profile picture button.
  2. Spacebar or select Change your profile picture button to open the Change your profile picture panel.
  3. Navigate the Change your profile picture panel and select one of the following:
    • Upload button
    • Capture Photo from Camera button

Upload

  1. To upload a profile image, Spacebar or select Select to upload an image button, visually displayed with the text Upload, Drag image.
  2. Your native operating system folder automatically opens. Use standard navigation and interaction techniques to select your profile image.
  3. After you select your profile image, a dialog window the heading Crop and Save Your picture is available.
  4. To select the image, go to the I Like It! Button and Spacebar or select it.
    • An image with the guest name you entered when you joined the session as alternative text is then added to the Change your profile picture panel.
  5. To cancel, go to the Cancel button and Spacebar or select it.
    • Focus is returned to the Change your profile picture panel.

Remove

  1. To remove a profile image, Spacebar or select Remove your current profile image button, visually displayed with the text Remove.
  2. Image is removed from the Change your profile picture panel.

Capture Photo from Camera

  1. To take a photo in the Collaborate application, go to and Spacebar or select Capture Photo from Camera button.
  2. A dialog window with the heading Capture Photo and description “Take a photo of yourself to use as your profile image. Don’t worry. You can try again if it doesn’t look right.
  3. Go to and Spacebar or select Take Photo button.
    • An image with the guest name you entered when you joined the session as alternative text is then added to the Change your profile picture panel.
  4. To cancel, go to the Cancel button and Spacebar or select it.
    • Focus is returned to the Change your profile picture panel.

Audio and video settings

  1. In the My Settings tab, go to the Audio and Video Settings tab.
  2. Verify that the tab is expanded and continue to navigate to the following features:
    • Set up Camera and Microphone button
    • Use your phone for audio button
      • Toggles to display a text description with the session phone number and PIN. After you selected to use your phone you can't return to using the computer’s audio controls. This is a bug all users are experiencing.
    • Speaker volume slider
      • Use left or right arrow keys with the keyboard or
      • Use Press the key Left Arrow or Press the key Right Arrow
    • Microphone volume slider
      • Use left or right arrow keys with the keyboard or
      • Use Press the key Left Arrow or Press the key Right Arrow voice commands
    • Display Closed Captions (when available) checkbox
      • Spacebar or select Display Closed Captions (when available) checkbox when enabled
      • Display Closed Captions (when available) checkbox is automatically disabled

Set up Camera and Microphone

  1. In the list under Audio and Video Settings, go to the Set up your camera and microphone button.
  2. Spacebar or select Set up your camera and microphone button to open the Audio Test (1 of 2) dialog.
  3. Navigate the dialog to find the following features:
    • You sound great progress meter

      The meter is not rendered to screen readers.

    • Select microphone select field
      • If there is only one microphone, then this select field isn't interactive
    • No – I need help button

      The No – I need help button opens the Troubleshooting help topic for your browser.

    • Yes – It’s working button
  4. Spacebar or select the Yes – It’s working button to open the Video Test (2 of 2).
  5. Navigate the dialog to find the following features:
    • Video

      Video is not rendered to screen readers

    • Select camera select field
      • If there is only one camera, then this select field isn't interactive
    • No – I need help button

      The No – I need help button opens the Troubleshooting help topic for your browser.

    • Yes – It’s working button
  6. Spacebar or select the Yes – It’s working button to open the You’re good to go! dialog
  7. Spacebar or select Close button to close the dialog.
  8. Focus goes to the Share Audio button.

Notification settings

  1. In the My Settings tab, go to the Notification Settings tab.
  2. Spacebar or select Notification Settings tab to expand the panel.
  3. The panel contains these setting list items:
    • Someone joined or left the breakout group or session heading
      • Collaborate pop-up notification check box
      • Audio notification check box
      • Browser pop-up notification check box
    • Someone posts a chat message heading
      • Collaborate pop-up notification check box
      • Audio notification check box
      • Browser pop-up notification check box
    • Close captioning available heading
      • Collaborate pop-up notification check box
    • Someone raises their hand heading (moderator role only)
      • Collaborate pop-up notification check box
      • Audio notification check box
      • Browser pop-up notification check box
  4. Go to the check box appropriate for your needs and use the Spacebar or select the check box.

Report an Issue with Assistive Technology


Report an issue

  1. In the My Settings tab, go to the Report an issue button.
  2. Spacebar or select Report an issue button to open the Report an Issue section.
  3. Go to either the heading I had audio problems or the heading I had video problems.
  4. Under I had audio problems go to the list and use Spacebar or select one or all of the following check boxes:
    • I couldn’t hear others
    • Others couldn’t hear me
  5. Under I had a video problems go to the list and use Spacebar or select one or all of the following check boxes:
    • I couldn’t see others
    • Others couldn’t see me
  6. If you had neither audio nor video issues, go to the text I had a different problem.
    • Spacebar or select I had a different problem button to enable the Describe your issue (max 1000 characters). edit field.
    • Go to and enter your issue in the Describe your issue edit field.
  7. To hear additional content that will be included with your report, go to the Auto-generated report that will be sent with your description edit field.

Cancel an issue

  1. If you find yourself in the Report an issue panel unintentionally, go to the Cancel button.
  2. Spacebar or select the Cancel button to return to the My Settings panel.

Session settings

  1. In the My Settings tab, navigate to the Session Settings tab.
  2. Spacebar or select Sessions Settings tab to open the panel.
  3. The panel contains these list items:
    • Only show moderator profile pictures check box
    • Participants permissions heading related to these list items:
      • Share audio check box
      • Share video check box
      • Post chat messages check box
      • Draw on whiteboard and files check box
  4. Go to the check box appropriate for your needs and use the Spacebar or select the check box to turn it on or off.

  2. Spacebar or select Report an issue button to open the Report an Issue section.
