Blackboard commits to delivering product experiences that meet the global accessibility standards. As part of this commitment, Blackboard performs regular accessibility testing.

Blackboard accessibility tests use the WCAG 2.1 AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines). This is an international accessibility standard. Most of the new legislation and legal requirements worldwide aligns with this standard. Additionally, Blackboard performs reviews on proposed feature designs, code reviews, and QA reviews.

Tests are on these things.

  • What’s new
  • Known problem areas from previous testing
  • Common workflows

A third party conducts regular audits of our software. Experts perform code review, check color contrast, and test keyboard interaction. The results from these audits are then aligned to results from user testing. Individuals with disabilities perform use case tests on common workflows.
